They didn't just add square footage. They added the place where our family actually lives now.

A Chris & Claude Family
You don't need to move

You love where you live.
It's just gotten a little tight.

Selling and starting over costs more than most people think. A thoughtful addition is almost always the smarter answer.

01

Growing family, shrinking house

The kids need rooms. Aging parents may be moving in. Working from home is here to stay. The house you bought ten years ago can't quite keep up.

02

You love the bones, the lot, the street

The character of an older home is the kind of thing new builds simply don't have. Walking away from a home with bones costs more than money.

03

Adding on shouldn't feel scary

Most homeowners get burned by surprise costs, sloppy work, or contractors who disappear. We built the company so you don't have to.

What we build

We only build additions.
And we build them beautifully.

No volume builds. No standalone kitchen-and-bath jobs. We focus on additions because that's where we do our best work, and where character homes deserve a craftsman who actually understands them.

Our Specialty Historic A-frame home addition with stone chimney

Historic Home Additions

Period-correct additions on homes with real bones. Stone farmhouses, Victorians, four-squares. We match the trim, the rooflines, the soul. The new wing looks like it was always meant to be there.

Attic Conversions

That dusty third floor with the great bones? It's a primary suite waiting to happen. We add dormers, finish the framing, and turn forgotten square footage into the best room in the house.

When the addition calls for it, we'll renovate the adjoining interior (refit the kitchen, refinish the floors, rework the flow) so the new and the old read as one home.

Our Process

Three simple steps.
No mystery. No surprises.

You'll know what's happening, what's next, and what it'll cost. Every step of the way.

01

Design

We sit down at your kitchen table, listen, walk the property, and bring back drawings and a real number. No clipboard quotes.

02

Build

One project lead. One crew. One job site at a time. You'll meet the actual people doing the work, most of whom have been with us for years.

03

Live

We finish the work, sweep up after ourselves, and pack out clean. You don't lift a finger. Just open the door, settle in, and start enjoying the home you already loved.

Why homeowners pick us

Most contractors are great at one thing. We do the part you actually care about: all of it.

In-house design + build

One team from sketch to final coat. No finger-pointing between architect and builder.

Fixed pricing before we start

You'll have a real number, not a "ballpark," before a single board moves.

Lifetime craftsmanship warranty

If something we built ever isn't right, at year one or year fifteen, we come back. That's the whole deal.

In their words

Real homeowners.
Real projects.

★★★★★

"They showed up when they said they would. Did what they said they'd do. Charged exactly what they said it'd cost. In construction, that's rare."

"Three contractors quoted us. Chris & Claude wasn't the cheapest, but they were the only ones who actually got what we were trying to do. Worth every penny."

"Our 1840s farmhouse was sacred to us. They added 900 square feet that looks like it's always been there: same trim profile, same roof pitch, same soul. I still can't tell you where the old house ends."

Honest answers

The questions you're already wondering about.

What does a home addition actually cost?

Most of our additions land between $100k and $500k depending on size, finish level, and whether we're touching the existing structure. We don't believe in clipboard quotes. Once we walk your property and understand the goal, you'll get a real fixed number before you commit to anything.

How long will my project take?

From signed design contract to keys in hand, most additions take 5 to 9 months. We'll give you a real timeline at the start, and tell you the moment anything changes, not at the end.

Do you handle permits and architectural drawings?

Yes. Everything is in-house: design, drawings, engineering coordination, township permits. You'll have one team and one point of contact from sketch to certificate of occupancy.

What about financing?

Most of our clients use a home equity line, a renovation loan, or pay in stages from savings. We're happy to introduce you to local lenders we've worked with for years (no obligation).

Will I be able to live in the house during construction?

For most additions, yes. We phase the work to keep your kitchen and at least one bath operational. When the addition involves opening up walls into the existing home, we'll talk through the trade-offs with you upfront.
Chris and Claude in their kitchen
Hi, we're Chris & Claude

We're not a national chain.
We're your neighbors.

The Chris & Claude Co. is a small, family-owned design-build firm in Honey Brook, PA. We're a husband-and-wife team: Chris runs the build, Claude runs the design. The ostrich is a long story (ask us when we meet).

We don't do volume. We take on a small number of homes a year and we do them right. That's the whole strategy. If we get to do yours, you'll meet us on day one and you'll see us on the job site. That's a promise.
